Talent: Getting Started
Welcome to Illumera. This page is a short, first-run checklist that takes you from an empty account to a complete profile that ranks well in company searches. Work through the steps in order — each one feeds a different dimension of your match score.
The quickest way to fill out most of your profile is the Onboarding & Resume Import wizard. Upload a resume once and Illumera extracts your experience, skills, and certifications for you to confirm.
Step 1 — Complete onboarding
Goal: Get the basics of your profile in place in a few minutes.
- On first sign-in you land in the onboarding wizard.
- Work through the six steps: Identity, Availability, Resume, Skills, Culture, and Summary.
- On the Summary step, review your profile completeness score, then click Go to Dashboard.

Step 2 — Polish your profile

- Go to Profile.
- On the Overview tab, set your Headline, Bio, Seniority Level, and Work Type Preferences, and upload an avatar.
- Add your City, Country, and Timezone.

Step 3 — Add skills and certifications
Goal: Give the matching engine real data to score you on.
- Go to Skills.
- Add at least 3 skills, each with a category, proficiency level, and last used year.
- Add any certifications you hold.
/person/skillsStep 4 — Set availability and work environment
Goal: Tell the network when you can work and how you like to work.
- Go to Work Environment.
- Complete the CVF questionnaire and set your work constraints (location, travel, clearance, schedule).
- Set your availability status and weekly hours from your Profile.

Step 5 — Browse the marketplace
Goal: Find and apply to project slots that fit you.
- Go to Projects.
- Results are sorted by your overall Match Score. Use the filters to narrow by skill, rate, work type, or duration.
- Save interesting roles for later, or Apply to ones you want.

A more complete and accurate profile produces higher, more reliable match scores. If you skip a section, the matching engine has less to work with and you may be ranked lower than you should be.
