Finding & Applying to Projects
The Projects marketplace (/person/projects) is where you discover open project slots across
the network, ranked by how well they fit you. The page has three views: browse
(/person/projects), Saved (/person/projects/saved), and Applied
(/person/projects/applied).
/person/projectsBrowse and filter projects
Goal: Find slots that fit your skills, rate, and preferences.
- Open Projects. Results are sorted by your overall Match Score by default.
- Use the filter bar to narrow results:
- Search — title, company, or keyword.
- Skill — e.g. React, Python, AWS.
- Rate — Any, Under $100/hr, or $100+/hr.
- Work Type — Any, Remote, Hybrid, or On-site.
- Duration — Any, < 3 months, 3–6 months, or > 6 months.
- Change the Sort to Match Score, Rate: High → Low, or Rate: Low → High.
/person/projectsEach project card shows the match score, project and company name, location, rate, duration, work type, required skills, a culture-fit indicator, and a deadline-urgency label (e.g. "Closes tomorrow", "2 days left").
Read your match score
Goal: Understand why a slot ranks where it does.
Each card and the project detail page show a match score (0–100%) visualized as a spider (radar) chart made of six dimensions:
- Skills — how well your skills and proficiency cover the slot's required skills.
- Availability — your status and weekly hours versus the slot's required hours.
- Culture Fit — your CVF vector against the slot's reference weights, adjusted for work-mode, travel, clearance, and schedule compatibility.
- Cost Efficiency — your target rate against the slot's rate range.
- Experience / Seniority — your seniority and history against the role.
- Domain Depth — the depth of your expertise (proficiency, coverage, and recency) in the slot's required skill areas.
/person/projectsIf a dimension scores low, the fix is usually on your profile: add or re-level skills, update your availability, or complete your work environment assessment.
Save a project for later
Goal: Bookmark interesting slots without applying yet.
- On a project card, click the bookmark / save icon.
- Find saved slots later under Projects → Saved (
/person/projects/saved).
/person/projects/savedView project details
Goal: Inspect a slot before applying.
- Click a project card to open its detail page (
/person/projects/:id). - Review the description, timeline, required skills (hover a skill for its criticality and minimum proficiency), and the list of open roles.
- Check the Work Environment Compatibility card — if your assessment is incomplete, it prompts you to complete it; if complete, it shows a compatibility score and constraint checks.
/person/projectsApply to a project
Goal: Submit your interest for a specific role.
- On the project detail page, if there are multiple open slots, choose a role from the Apply for role dropdown.
- Click Apply.
- Track the application under Projects → Applied (
/person/projects/applied), where you can Withdraw it or respond to outcomes.
/person/projects/appliedApplying creates an engagement record. The company reviews your profile, and the slot can move through invitation and acceptance. Track everything from the Engagements page.
