Projects, Slots, WEP & SOW

Projects represent contract vehicles or task orders. Each project contains slots (individual roles), an optional Statement of Work (SOW), and a Work Environment Profile (WEP) that drives culture-fit scoring. The flow is: project → slot → match → engagement.

Browse your projects

Goal: find and filter your projects.

  1. Open /company/projects. Use the Active, Drafts, Completed, and Archived tabs, or search by name.
  2. Each card shows the project name, budget, slots filled (X / Y), a status badge, and a visibility badge — Private, Federated, or Marketplace. Click a card to open it.
  3. Click Create Project to start a new one.

Create a project

Goal: stand up a project with roles, SOW, and culture profile.

Open /company/projects/new. The five-step wizard saves your work as a draft as you go:

  1. Basics — Project name, description, location, work mode, budget (with a "Show to applicants" toggle), visibility, and start/end dates.
  2. Statement of Work (SOW) — Upload a PDF/DOCX/TXT for AI extraction, or enter objectives and milestones manually.
  3. Roles — Add one or more role/slot cards (see Slots below).
  4. Work Environment Profile (WEP) — Answer the culture questionnaire, then set work mode, travel, clearance, and schedule constraints.
  5. Review & Launch — Review everything and launch.

Visibility options: Private (your team only), Federated (network partners), or Marketplace (discoverable by any company on Illumera).

PausedTemporarily on hold; slots hidden from searches.

Manage a project

Goal: track readiness and act on a project.

Open a project at /company/projects/:id. Key areas:

  1. The header shows status and visibility badges; use Edit, Add Slot, and the status dropdown.
  2. The KPI strip shows budget (click for the Cost Scenario), location, timeline, slots filled, and skills addressed.
  3. The Project Readiness band reports Ready / Mostly Ready / At Risk / Blocked with a progress bar, stale-match warnings, and recommended actions.
  4. The Slots strip lists each slot card with priority, status, matched count, and a View candidates link. Reorder with the up/down arrows, edit with the pencil.
  5. Lower sections show the Statement of Work, Work Environment Profile (radar + four CVF bars + hard constraints), Skills Coverage (green = full, yellow = partial, red = gap), and Status History.

To change core details, open /company/projects/:id/edit — name, description, status, marketplace visibility, address, monthly budget (with "Show to applicants"), dates, and (if enabled) job site publishing. Click Save changes.

Define slots

Goal: specify a staffing requirement that drives a matching run. A slot is a single role.

  1. From the project, click Add Slot (or open /company/projects/:id/slots/new). To edit, open /company/projects/:id/slots/:slotId/edit.
  2. Set the Role title, description, Required skills, Preferred certifications, Minimum seniority, Hours per week (1–80), Duration weeks, Target rate, and Max rate.
  3. Optionally set Work Style Requirements — preferred team size (Solo / Small / Medium / Large) and collaboration style (Independent / Collaborative / Mixed).
  4. In edit mode, set the slot StatusOpen, Filled, or Cancelled — and, if your job site is enabled and the project is published, configure Publish to job site fields (employment type, remote type, public description, salary range, deadline).
  5. Click Create slot (or Save changes).
How match scoring uses slot fields

Required Skills drive Skill Match (weighted by each person's self-rated proficiency). Hours Per Week feeds Availability. Target / Max Rate drive Cost Efficiency — scores peak at or below target and degrade toward the ceiling. The WEP drives the culture dimensions.

Work Environment Profile (WEP)

Goal: set or retake the culture profile that scores candidates for this project.

  1. Open /company/projects/:id/wep.
  2. Answer the culture questions one at a time (use Previous or Skip); the progress bar tracks completion.
  3. On the constraints step, set work mode, travel, clearance required, and schedule (all optional).
  4. Click Save WEP (or Update WEP when retaking). Culture-fit scoring updates for all open slots on the project.

Statement of Work (SOW)

Goal: capture project objectives and milestones, with AI assistance.

  1. Open /company/projects/:id/sow.
  2. Drop a PDF, DOCX, or TXT into the upload zone — AI extracts objectives and milestones. Or click Add objectives manually.
  3. Edit objectives and milestone cards (title, due date, description) as needed.
  4. Click Save SOW. Objectives flow into the project's Skills Coverage requirements.

note

Once a slot is configured, find candidates in the Talent Marketplace, then shortlist or invite to create an engagement.
